Written to match how billing actually behaves in the product, not a summary of it.
The £10 setup fee is a one-time charge for opening your company workspace and portal. It is not a service package: you set up your company, branding and first customers yourself using the step-by-step screens.
It is charged once, together with your first month. If you cancel and later come back, the setup fee is not charged again.
Cancel from Billing in your workspace at any time. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and is not renewed. There is no notice period and nothing further to pay.
After that the workspace pauses. You can still sign in and read your records, but your customers see a “temporarily unavailable” message until you subscribe again. Your data is kept.
If a renewal payment fails, access continues for 7 days while you update the payment method.
The subscription covers the portal. It does not include collecting money from your customers.
Stage payments are built into the portal and currently in testing. When they are switched on, payments go through your own Stripe account, Stripe's processing fees apply to you in the normal way and Contractor Connect adds no platform fee.
Subscription payments are taken by card through Stripe. Your Billing page shows the current status of your subscription and is where you cancel.

These are the limits enforced in the product today. Nothing here is described as unlimited.

Yes. The owner invites team members from Company settings by sharing an invitation link. Staff can work on customers, projects, quotes, documents and updates. Billing, payment settings and company settings stay with the owner.
